COO/Vice President

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for a top management role (COO / VP) to lead India operations and drive the Civil, Composite & Structural Steel project business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership, strategy, and project execution within the Engineering & Construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute an entry strategy for captive projects, leading the Civil, Composite & Structural Steel business.
• Operational Efficiency: Devise and implement strategies to ensure operational effectiveness, with a focus on ROI.
• Operational Optimization: Streamline and optimize daily operations to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Business Opportunities: Identify major business opportunities in Structural Steel, Civil, and composite-related projects across India.
• Execution Planning: Transform company leadership requirements into executable plans with clearly defined milestones and targets.
• Market Analysis: Understand market dynamics, trends, and customer needs to inform the go-to-market strategy.
• Tendering & Contracts: Manage the tendering process and contracts for new and existing projects, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and optimizing contract terms for the benefit of the organization.
• Market & Project Identification: Identify niche segments and projects aligned with the organization’s brand values and strengths.
• Project Management: Oversee project management from conceptual development to final construction, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Growth & Profitability: Drive growth and profitability in existing and future projects.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions to business problems, streamline processes, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Implementation of Policies & Procedures: Ensure the effective implementation of company policies and procedures across all locations and departments.
• Internal Auditing: Conduct IMS/QHSE internal audits at factory, head office, and project sites, assisting process owners in closing observations and non-conformities (NCRs).
• Business Development: Be responsible for fundraising, strategy, business development, and operations of the Project Management & Engineering vertical.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 20+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership position managing medium to large project teams and executing large projects.
• Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience in the Civil Construction industry.
• Current Role: The candidate should currently be heading a business unit at Director, CEO, or VP level, managing Engineering & Construction functions.
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
• Languages Preferred: Tamil / Telugu / Kannada.
